The Pillars of the Academy of Global Studies at Austin High
As AGS students, we are encouraged to incorporate four different pillars, or ideals, into our lives that help to enrich our learning experiences while at Austin High. However, these pillars are not limited to our time at Austin High. As AGS students, we are encouraged to take these pillars out into the world after school in an effort to not only enlighten our communities, but also the world. These pillars include Investigate the World, Recognize Perspective, Communicate Ideas, and Take Action.
Investigate the World-
AGS encourages students to investigate the world and its variety of cultures.
Recognize Perspective-
AGS encourages students to employ empathy and sympathy when learning and traveling.
Communicate Ideas-
As students, we strive to learn from our peers and communicate ideas and beliefs in a healthy manner in an attempt to enrich our educations.
Take Action-
Finally, as students in AGS, we are encouraged to not only learn about the world, but also work to improve it. Throughout our time at Austin High School, every AGS student will have taken action in multiple different ways in an effort to improve the health of both the Earth and its inhabitants.
